Working on Game Again

So, I started working on my game again and I've moved a bit away from Unity at the moment and started working more on characters, story lines, and city/castle designs. Unity was being a bit overwhelming with everything I needed to do, so I'm planning on fully fleshing out each level before I really start on it.

My first level (as shown in the picture) I basically knew what I wanted, but I kind of just threw something together and with the bigger maps, I really can't do that. And then the inventory and creating individual items... I just couldn't (especially since the inventory system I was using kept deleting my database, making me start over - no. Just, no.)
So I might move to Unity again, once I have a more solid level design, but I can't work on mechanics now, that really burned me out. Later... I'll do that later... D:
Also started back onto creating the characters. I do have a basic (as in an extremely rough layout) story set up, so I do know some characters that need to be created. So I'm planning on creating them and fleshing them out a bit. And since I suck at drawing (... I can do more than stick-figures, but... its never right), I'm probably going to do a face/anime creator thing to do my basic creations like this:

Its limited, but better than nothing. Maybe I can actually try and draw something later. I did actually get a drawing tablet... but it wasn't what I really wanted. It doesn't have a screen or anything, so I draw there and it appears on the computer, but its really awkward to use. So I either have to find something else, or just... idk... free hand? I have an iPad and the drawing pen... maybe I can use them together? Ideas.
Well, this blog was actually extremely helpful with me sorting out my ideas, more than I expected actually, since I have no one to talk to. I mean seriously, no one cares about the game I'm creating D:
Well anyways, time to get to work, I guess.
